On behalf of the Triangle Communications Board, management team and employees, I would like to wish all our members a very Happy New Year!
In today’s world, a reliable internet connection is essential, which is why Triangle continues to plow fiber across our service territory. Triangle has completed fiber upgrades in 32 of our 39 exchanges, 2 exchanges are waiting for fiber and 5 exchanges are partially upgraded.
The winter weather has slowed down our Fiber to the Home construction. The construction projects in Whispering Pines and in the town of Big Timber have aerial work that has slowed. Even if the weather cooperates the contractors will continue to work when they can. Triangle continues to plan for our 2023 and 2024 fiber buildouts. South Chester, Geraldine and the Hays and Lodgepole areas if we are given right of way from the Fort Belknap Community Council. If we are unable to obtain the right of way, Triangle will move on to a portion of Big Timber in 2023 and hope that the Fort Belknap Community Council gives consent in 2023 for a 2024 build.
Triangle offers the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) benefit which provides up to $30 per month discount for internet service and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Triangle Communications is also dedicated to working with the communities and non-profit groups to support events, activities and other projects that serve the needs of our members in the cooperative service area. This includes arts and culture; education; sports and recreation; community service activities; wellness and health. Priority is given to events that make a difference in the communities Triangle serves; events that benefit a broad range of members, opportunities for job creation and Civic improvement projects.
