Capital Credits

THE COOPERATIVE DIFFERENCE:
CAPITAL CREDITS AT WORK FOR YOU

Being part of a cooperative means more than just paying for a service, it means you are an owner. One of the most valuable ways this ownership shows up is through Capital Credit Allocations.

These allocations represent your share of the cooperative’s earnings, returned to you in recognition of your support and usage. Unlike shareholder dividends in a traditional corporation, capital credits aren’t handed out to outside investors - they stay with the people who make the cooperative possible: you, our members.

In essence, when the cooperative operates efficiently and generates a positive margin, those earnings are allocated back to you. It’s one of the most tangible ways we demonstrate that Triangle Communications is owned by the members, for the members.

The Benefits of Capital Credit Allocations:

A Return on Your Services

With every service you use, you’re not just paying a bill — you’re building equity. Your capital credit allocation is a direct return on the investment you make in your cooperative.

Reducing Your Costs Over Time

Depending on Triangle’s performance and your level of usage, your allocations can add up. In some cases, they may even cover a large portion of what you paid in a year — turning everyday service into long-term value.

Long-Term Financial Rewards

Capital credits are paid out, or “retired,” over time, with the oldest years retired first. Many years, members are also given the option of a discounted capital credit offer — providing the chance to receive multiple years of allocations all at once.

Youth Support

Our youth scholarship and education grant programs are made possible through unclaimed capital credits.

UNCLAIMED CAPITAL CREDITS

We are searching for the following members who have unclaimed patronage capital credits due to an insufficient address.  Please call our office to speak to a capital credit representative or complete the forms and return to our office to receive your unclaimed capital credits.

If your name is on this list please print this form and return to Triangle Telephone by Mail, E-Mail or Fax.

A W9 Form must also be completed and is required by the IRS for any payments over $600.00.

  • Please complete all information on the Payee (person receiving the refund check).
    • Whether or not this payment is taxable or nontaxable is an item to be discussed with your accountant or tax preparer.
