Important Information regarding your capital credits
Triangle is a cooperative. For cooperatives, our members are also our owners. Your ownership in the Cooperative is represented by capital credits. Members receive capital credit allocations based on their use (also known as patronage) of Triangle’s services each year.
The Triangle Board has again decided to offer a capital credit discount offer where the Cooperative will pay each present and former member, at your choice, the present worth or discounted present value (discounted amount) of the member’s capital credit account for the years 2002 to 2021.
Information regarding the discounted capital credit balance was included in the letter mailed out in August to all members, past and present, with a capital credit account. If you elect to participate in the capital credit discount offer, please sign the form included with the letter and return in the envelope provided with the letter, deliver to the Havre or Big Timber office, fax to 406-394-7815 or email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Acceptance forms must be received before October 3, 2022. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE FOR ACCEPTANCE FORMS RECEIVED AFTER OCTOBER 3, 2022.
If you elect to accept the capital credits discount offer, you will not receive any further refunds of capital credits that were allocated to you for the specified years between 2002 and 2021.
If you choose not to participate in this capital credit discount offer; no action is required on your part, your capital credit account balance for the years 2002 to 2021 will remain unchanged, and you will remain eligible to receive future credit refunds when approved by the board.
The board is also doing a general retirement for just 1933- 2001. If you are participating in the discounted offer, you will receive the 1993-2001 amount included with the discounted offer check. If you are not participating in the discounted offer, a standalone check for the 1993-2001 general retirement will be sent to you.
