Some of you may have heard, read or watched the news cast where Triangle Communications was mentioned using Chinese equipment from a company called Huawei (pronounced wah-way). The CNN news segment claimed that companies like Triangle Communications have installed this equipment and its interference with InterContinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) managed by Malmstrom Airbase and used to track Air Force personnel by the Chinese government. Triangle does utilize Huawei equipment in its cellular and fixed wireless networks and has done so since 2012. The equipment around the Missile silos has a fixed RF signal and is utilized for our fixed wireless internet service. It is not used in a mobile capacity and cannot interfere with any ICBM launch or track any Air Force personnel. Triangle is using this equipment to give internet service to areas where we have not built fiber to the home/ranch/ farm yet and it is not a danger to public safety or to any of our members. On a different and more important subject, sometimes new technology can be frustrating when it doesn’t work the way you want it to. Triangle introduced a service called Advanced Wi-Fi a couple of months back to help our members who are struggling with weak Wi-Fi signals. For $10 a month, Triangle’s skilled technicians will test your Wi-Fi signal, check for interference and place the internet router in the optimal location to give you coverage throughout your home. You can also order our new Internet Only service and as we say, “ditch your land line”. You choose between measured or unlimited service. With measured service there are three speed tiers and you pay for what you use like on your electric bill.
